The History:

I first bought this microphone back in June of 2021. I walked into Best Buy with absolutely zero idea of what podcast equipment would be best for me. Quickly, I was pointed in the direction of this bad boy, the Blue Yeti.

“This is a go-to of mine,” said the Best Buy sales guy. “I’ve sold a lot of these,” he added.

$99 bucks? Deal. (Best Buy price matches so do some research, sometimes these mics can be found for $89!). Nearly two months later, the beginning of August I finally whipped out my new prize possession.

The Setup:

This microphone has the easiest setup on the face of the earth. Pulling it out of the box (keep that baby for if your record on the road) I was happy to find that all I needed to do was plug the cord into the mic and then into my computer….and voilà, you’ve got a hot mic.

The Sound:

After recording, I was thrilled to listen back to my sound quality. I was not disappointed to say the least. the Blue Yeti Mic quickly became my best recording friend. From August to February- I use this microphone daily and it has yet to let me down. I am always getting compliments on the quality of my sound as well as the professional feel, even if I am at home in my pajamas.

Overall:

Whether you think $99 is expensive, or whether you think it is on the cheaper side- the Blue Yeti is the investment your podcast future will thank you for. I work and travel with this podcast mic and it has been the best $99 bucks I have spent on my hosting journey.
