How to Prepare for your First Podcast Recording

Today’s the day! If you are ready, you have your show name, your artwork, and your music - now it’s time to record. Don’t let your nerves get in the way, recording your first podcast is a milestone in itself! Congratulations!

To properly prepare for your first show you should:

  • Double check your equipment and levels along with your recording software to ensure everything is properly working

    • Check your microphone settings, such as noise gates.

    • Check to make sure all of your microphones are picking up the proper audio levels for each speaker.

  • Prepare and study your podcast outlines before hand, talking points or interview questions.

  • If you have guests, provide them with the same outline so they know what to expect.

  • Don’t forget to hit the record button ( yes this happens to people)

  • Lastly, HAVE FUN!
